And this one is bigger than usual.
New tool. AI-powered sharing. EPUB overhaul. Plus a small UI change that sounds minor but saves time every single day.
Here's what actually matters for your workflow.
The Capture Tool — The Feature Everyone's Been Waiting For
This is the headline of the update.
The Capture Tool lets you circle any area of a document — a sketch, a paragraph, a diagram, a section of your notes — and then:
- Duplicate it on another page
- Resize it
- Rotate it
- Move it to a completely different notebook
Why does this matter?
Until now, if you wanted to copy something from one page to another on reMarkable, you basically had to rewrite it. There was no way to grab a section and move it.
Now there is.
For planners specifically: imagine circling your top priorities from last week and dropping them directly into this week's page. Or grabbing a sketch from a brainstorm notebook and moving it into a project planning page.
It's the kind of feature that changes how you work with your notes — not just what you can do with them.
Convert and Share — Now With AI
Previously called "Create a Link", this feature has been rebuilt and renamed.
Convert and Share now uses AI to summarise and distil your handwritten notes into actionable next steps — then lets you send them directly via email, Slack, or as a shareable web link.
You write by hand. The AI pulls out what matters. One tap to share.
This is Connect only — but if you're a subscriber using reMarkable for meeting notes or project planning, this is a meaningful upgrade to what was already a useful feature.
Sharing Is Now One Tap Away
Small change. Real difference.
The sharing menu has moved from the three-dot menu to the main toolbar.
That means exporting a page, sending a note, or creating a link no longer requires opening a submenu. It's right there, always visible.
On a device built around speed and focus, fewer taps matters.
EPUB Reading — Finally Fixed
If you read ebooks on your reMarkable, this update is for you.
The entire EPUB reading experience has been rebuilt — new UI, better formatting, improved font options, expanded language support, and nicer ebook thumbnails.
The updated interface makes it easier to choose fonts and layouts, and the formatting tweaks improve readability throughout.
reMarkable has never been the best ebook reader in the category. This update doesn't change that — but it closes the gap meaningfully for everyday reading.
Does This Update Affect Your PDF Planners?
Short answer: no.
The Capture Tool, Convert and Share, and EPUB improvements don't change how PDF planners work on reMarkable. Your hyperlinked templates navigate exactly the same way.
What does change is what you can do around your planner. Capturing a section of notes and moving it to your weekly page. Sharing a daily summary with one tap. Reading a reference ebook without squinting at awkward formatting.
The device just got more capable. Your planning system stays the same.
How to Get the Update
The update is rolling out gradually to all supported devices — reMarkable 2, Paper Pro, Paper Pro Move, and Paper Pure.
If you don't have it yet:
Go to Menu → Settings → Software → Check for updates
It'll appear when it's ready for your device.
