How to Use Your reMarkable for a Weekly Reset (And Actually Start the Week With Clarity)

Most people end the week with a full head.

Unfinished tasks. Things that didn't happen. Ideas that got lost somewhere between Monday and Friday.

And then Monday comes — and instead of starting fresh, you're already behind.

A weekly reset changes that.

It's not a productivity hack. It's just 20-30 minutes at the end of the week (or the start of a new one) to close the loop, clear your head, and decide what actually matters next.

Here's how to do it on your reMarkable.

Step 1 — Brain Dump Everything

Open a blank or dotted page and write down everything that's in your head.

Unfinished tasks. Things you keep forgetting. Worries. Ideas. Stuff you promised someone. Things that are nagging at you.

All of it. On the page.

Don't organise it yet. Don't judge it. Just get it out.

The reMarkable is perfect for this because there's nothing pulling you away. No notifications. No tabs. Just you and the page.

When everything is out of your head and on paper, your mind gets quieter. And you can finally see what's actually there.

Step 2 — Review the Week That Just Happened

Before you plan forward, look back.

Ask yourself three questions and write the answers down:

What did I actually get done? Not what you planned — what actually happened. Give yourself credit for it.

What didn't happen — and why? Was it the wrong priority? Did something more urgent come up? Or did you just avoid it?

What's carrying over to next week? Not everything that didn't happen needs to follow you. Some things can be dropped, delegated, or moved to a "someday" page.

This step takes 5 minutes and saves you from carrying dead weight into the new week.

Step 3 — Pick Your Top 3 Priorities for Next Week

Not a full task list. Not everything you want to do.

Three things that — if they happen — make next week a success.

Write them at the top of your weekly page. Circle them. Make them impossible to miss.

Everything else goes below as a secondary list. It exists, but it's not the focus.

This is the simplest shift you can make and it changes everything about how Monday morning feels.

Step 4 — Set Up Your Week

Open your weekly overview page and fill it in.

What's already locked in — meetings, appointments, deadlines? Where do your top 3 priorities actually fit? Are there any days that are already too full to take on something new?

Five minutes of planning here saves hours of confusion during the week.

Step 5 — Clear the Decks

Before you close your reMarkable:

  • Archive anything you no longer need
  • Move loose notes to the right folders
  • Star the files you'll need first thing Monday

You want to open your device on Monday and know exactly where to go.

How Long Does This Take?

If you do it properly — 20 to 30 minutes.

Sunday evening or Friday afternoon both work. Pick whichever feels more natural for how you work.

The goal isn't to plan every minute of next week. It's to start Monday with a clear head and a short list of things that actually matter.
